What a Chuppah Rental Includes, and What Still Needs Deciding

A chuppah is one of the few things at a Jewish wedding that everyone will be looking at during the vows, and one of the few things couples rent without quite knowing what they are getting. So let us take the mystery out of it. When you rent a chuppah through us, you are renting a structure and a design, and those are two different things worth understanding separately.

The structure itself is the frame. Ours are part of our curated rental collection, chosen because they carry florals and draping beautifully and stand steadily whether you are indoors under a ballroom ceiling or outdoors on a lawn. A rental includes the four posts, the crossbars, and the hardware that holds everything together, along with delivery, setup on the day, and breakdown afterward. You are never left to assemble anything or arrange for its return. That is our responsibility from the moment it arrives to the moment it leaves.

What the frame alone does not include is the meaning you drape over it, and that is on purpose. Many families bring their own cloth for the top of the chuppah, a tallit that belonged to a grandparent, a quilt sewn for the occasion, a piece of fabric that carries a story. We design around whatever you bring, securing it so it sits the way you imagine and framing it so it reads as the centerpiece it is. If you do not have a family piece, we can source draping in a fabric and tone that suits your palette. Either way, the covering is a decision we make together rather than something that simply comes in the box.

Then there are the florals, which is where a chuppah stops being a frame and starts being yours. This is the part that varies most, and the part that most affects what your chuppah costs and how it feels. A chuppah can carry a soft asymmetrical spray gathered at two corners, a full garland that runs the length of the top, greenery that spills down the posts, or large-scale installations that turn the whole structure into a floral moment. Each of those is a different amount of flowers and a different amount of labor, so each sits at a different place in your overall design. We walk through the look you are after and build the florals to match it rather than assuming every couple wants the same fullness.

A few practical things worth knowing. Chuppah florals are usually part of your full-service floral design rather than a flat add-on, because they are custom to your palette, your season, and the scale you choose. The structure rental is separate from what grows on it. And because we take a limited number of celebrations each weekend, the chuppah is designed and installed by the same team handling the rest of your florals, so the tones and textures at your ceremony carry through to your reception without a seam. If your ceremony flowers can move afterward, we plan that from the start.

One question we hear often is whether the chuppah has to stay outside the reception once the ceremony ends. It does not have to disappear. Depending on your venue and floor plan, elements of the chuppah design can be repurposed, whether that means relocating the structure to frame a sweetheart table or carrying its florals into the room another way. That is a conversation we have early, because it changes how we build things on the day.
